"Two frogs fell into a can of cream Or so I've heard it told The sides of the can were shiny and steep, The cream was deep and cold, ""Oh, what's the use?"" said No. 1, ""tis fate -- no help's around -- Good-bye, my friend! Good-bye, cruel world!"" And weeping still, he drowned. But No. 2 of sterner stuff, Kept paddling, which was wise,. Then while he wiped his creamy face And dried his creamy eyes. ""I'll swim awhile, at least,"" he thought This cream I still can tread ""It wouldn't really help the world If one more frog was dead."" An hour or two he kicked and swam -- Not once he stopped to mutter, But kicked and swam, and swam and kicked, Then hopped out, on butter. That frothy little poem by an unknown author gives a picture of the difference a positive Christian attitude can make as we choose to redeem the time. "
"You’re busy working on a project to help someone when the phone rings. You suspect it might be someone you just don’t have time to talk to. So you have your child answer the phone and tell the caller you aren’t home. That’s good time management, right? Wrong! When you teach your children it’s OK to lie for you, you are also teaching them it’s OK to lie to you, or to anyone else for that matter. We live in a day when absolute standards of right and wrong simply don’t exist in the minds of most people. “If it feels good do it,” is the modern approach. But God said in Proverbs, “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are His delight.” The bottom line is, it is never right to do wrong. Even if it is to gain another opportunity to do right. Truthfulness is always a better way to redeem the time. "

" How do you get your money? For most of us, the answer is we get money by exchanging time, which we own, for money, which our employer owns. In other words there is a constant tradeoff going on in our lives between time and money. Some people wonder why they never have enough time. It may be because they aren’t careful enough in how they spend their money. Money that is spent must be replaced the only way to do that is to spend more time making more money. One way to save time the, is to look for ways to save money. It was Ben Franklin who said, “Time is money.” But a greater authority than Ben Franklin, the Lord Jesus, told us not to lay up treasures in this world. Jesus knew that to accumulate treasures would require time-lots of time that could be better spent. That’s why we want to be careful with time and money, because when we’re saving money we’re actually redeeming the time. "
