"What are your key result areas? In other words, what are the things that, if you do them well, can bring exceptional results? This is a key concept to understand if we want to achieve our fullest potential as Christians.
Wise managers know there are many activities that can be done exceptionally well, even perfectly, and still bring very little results. Does it really matter for example how well you wash your car? Two days from now will it really make any difference if you meticulously shine every piece of chrome and put a nice, shiny protective coating on the tires? You could spend three hours cleaning your car to perfection, and it would still get dirty after it hit the first mud hole. Since cleaning your car is not a key result area, you should spend minimal time on it by delegating that task to your 10 year old son or driving it through a cheap car wash.
Concentrating time and energy on the key result areas redeems the time.

"Krish Dhanham set a goal as an eight year old boy gazing into the stars one night on the beach in a small town in India. He determined he wanted to live in America. Eighteen years later he arrived at JFK airport in New York City and saw the Statue of Liberty for the first time.
Today Krish speaks on goal achievement for one of the largest Biblically based training firms in the world. When it comes to setting and achieving goals, here’s the advice Krish gives:
Plan with an attitude
Prepare with aptitude
Participate with servitude
Receive with gratitude,
And that should be enough to
Separate you from the multitudes.
That’s excellent advice for anyone who wants to do their best for God. Again,
Plan with an attitude
Prepare with aptitude
Participate with servitude
Receive with gratitude,
And that should be enough to
Separate you from the multitudes.
That’s also good counsel for redeeming the time.

"A man was playing Trivial Pursuit when he landed on Science and Nature."" His question
was, ""If you are in a vacuum and someone calls your name, can you hear it?""
He thought for a time and then asked, ""Is it on or off?""
None of us live in a vacuum. We live with people. And doing God’s will involves being with people and encouraging them in the things of God.
To make the best use of your time, look for ways to establish relationships with others as you go through your day. For example, you might think it saves time to always pay for your gas at the pump with your credit card. But maybe you should go inside sometimes just so you can greet the cashier and hand out a Gospel tract or otherwise be a witness for the Lord.
Remember God’s will involves contact with people. Don’t live in a vacuum, get involved with others and redeem the time.

"Dr. Thomas Stanley, with the University of Georgia, did a study of self-made millionaires to see what qualities they had in common. The one thing he noticed was that they all worked long and hard. One millionaire in his study was asked why he worked 12-14 hours a day. He observed, “In our society you work 8 hours a day for survival, and if you only work 8 hours all you do is survive…everything over 8 hours is an investment in your future.”
His response can be insightful for us as Christians. Lots of people today want to do the minimum and receive the maximum. While working a 14 hour day would likely not be God’s will for many of us with families, the principle of investing time, above and beyond the minimum required, is a very good principle to observe.
Finding what God wants you to do, and devoting whatever time is needed to complete that mission, is redeeming the time.
