"When it comes to how we manage time, there are basically three categories of people. First, there are those who don’t know what to do with their time. They’ve never taken time to really detect God’s purpose for their life. Their goals are either fuzzy or non-existent. The second group, are those who know what to do, but they lack the self discipline to do it. Many Christians fall into this category. They’ve set some goals and started a few things, but they’re not willing to pay the full price to make it to the finish line. The third group, are those who know what to do and they do it. They have the two things needed to be used of God to their fullest potential: Right Decisions and Good Discipline. Which of these three categories are you in? Time is precious. Take time right now to ask God how He wants you to spend yours. Then, have the discipline to do as He says, so you’ll redeem the time. "
"Just imagine for a moment Satan asking three demons for ideas to keep people from heaven. The first one said, “Let’s tell them there is no heaven.” “That won’t work” replied Satan. “Everyone knows in their heart that heaven is real.” The second spoke up, “Let’s tell them there’s no hell to be afraid of.” “No” replied Satan. “A man’s conscience tells him he’ll face judgment. No, we need something that will appeal to all people everywhere regardless of race, age or social class.” Then the third demon said, “Let’s tell them they have more time. Tomorrow will be soon enough to be saved. There’s no hurry.” At that point Satan laughed with delight, certain he had found the right formula which has been his most effective tool until this day. Well, it may not have happened just that way, but there is no question that the Devil’s greatest weapon is the “more time” lie. Don’t believe it. Obeying God and getting saved today will redeem the time. "
"A few years ago I was finding it difficult to get out of bed on time. I was sleeping in instead of spending quality time with the Lord in the morning. At that time, I went to a large church where we had a 5 O’Clock AM prayer meeting 7 days a week. I asked the pastor if I could be responsible for unlocking the church for the 5 O’clock prayer meeting. He was glad to find someone who wanted that responsibility. The next morning when my alarm clock went off at ten till five I got up! Because I knew that if I didn’t someone would know about it. Someone would be standing outside the church wanting to get in to pray but they couldn’t because I was home in bed when I had already promised to unlock the church. Remember, accountability can be a powerful key to early rising and early rising is a good way to start redeeming the time. "
"If you look at the top of the Supreme Court building in Washington DC you will see Moses with the 10 commandments. Well, I take that back. You won’t actually see Moses, but you will see a carving of Moses and the 10 commandments. That carving was put there to show the importance of the 10 Commandments as the basis of our legal system in America. But the 10 Commandments also can give direction for our personal lives and how we should spend our time. For example, when considering this evening’s entertainment, will you watch something that glorifies adultery and makes it look fashionable? Will you watch people commit murder? Will you expose your family to advertising that makes them covetous? Will your entertainment be free of language that takes God’s name in vain? Will the children in the entertainment be role models for your children by honoring their mother and father? Remember, learning the 10 Commandments and applying them to how you will use your time, will redeem the time. "
