Will You Be Redeeming the Time in 2008?
Setting the right goals is the starting place for redeeming the time and the start of the New Year is prime time for goal setting! So, I’ve gathered a few ideas about goal setting that might be helpful to you as you seek the Lord’s direction for the New Year:
1. Remember that for the Christian, goal setting is not a matter of inventing my own goals, but rather detecting what God’s goals for me already are.
2. If you need a quick way to get started setting goals, begin by listing “5 things I believe God wants me to do before I die.” This can be a real eye opener and can have a profound impact on how we spend our time in 2008! Many of us will find a big difference between the 5 most important things we really desire to accomplish, and what we are actually doing in our daily routine.
3. Don’t shoot for perfection. Many people will never write goals because they are afraid they may get the wrong goals. They don’t realize they are writing goals on paper, not carving them in stone. Your goals can and will change as God’s plan for your life becomes clearer.
4. If you lack motivation to set and work toward your goals, consider the high cost of not having goals. Consider what a disappointment you will be to God, your family and yourself if you continue to drift through life with no specific goal in mind. If you aim at nothing you will hit it every time.
5. Do it now! Procrastination is the assassination of your motivation. Remember the little yellow sticker I gave you when you attended the “Redeeming the Time” seminar? It said, “What does GOD want me to do RIGHT NOW?” I think there is a pretty good chance He wants you to set some goals for 2008 RIGHT NOW!

Ministry Update
2007 was one of our busiest years ever as we shared in 184 seminars and media interviews. One of the most exciting events for us was a 35 day trip “Out West” which included a stop at the Grand Canyon. After visiting it for just a few hours, one of my “5 Things I want to do before I die” became taking an extended hike of the Canyon. We hope to do that this year, so if you are in the Southwest and would be interested in scheduling a meeting when we pass your way, please let us know! We are also scheduling meetings for Indiana, Ohio, California, and anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic states.
College Class
Another event we are very excited about is the opportunity to share the seminars as a college credit course at God’s Bible School & College in Cincinnati this March. The course will be called, “Time Management and Personal Effectiveness.” It will be a “block class” taught over a three day period for one semester hour credit. Contact GBS at GBS.EDU for more info. Our goal is to make the course available to other schools and colleges next school year.
Thanks
Special thanks to everyone who helped us with prayers and finances in 07. Your support allowed us to keep “Redeeming the Time” syndicated to over 1,000 radio outlets without ever asking for a penny or selling anything. Because we have such limited staff, we don’t normally send out year end tax receipts unless you request them. If you do need a tax deductible receipt for your giving please let us know and we’ll be happy to get you one.
Quotes & Humor
-Avoid “Rocking Chair” activities. They are the ones that keep you moving but never get you anywhere.
-"The most practical, beautiful, workable philosophy in the world won't work-if you won't." --Zig Ziglar
-What are you doing right now that is keeping you from doing the thing you should be doing?
-Perhaps you heard of the little boy who opened a box of Cheerios and exclaimed, “Look Mom, donut seeds!”
Be blessed as you redeem the time in 2008!
