Mornings are usually busy times, so prepare for them the night before. After the supper dishes are cleared away, set the table for breakfast. While you are cleaning up from supper you may want to go ahead and do some cooking preparations while the kitchen is still messed up. This is a good time to make muffins or French toast for the next day. Even if you do not cook for breakfast, have the breakfast meal already in your mind so that you don’t have to get up and figure out what to have or give in to a last minute rush of having something fast, but unhealthy. Donuts are fast, but they do not redeem the time--they just kill you sooner! What better way to begin an organized day than to wake up and see a table nicely set, the meal planned, and ready for the day!
What can I do the night before to make my morning go smoother?
1. Determine what will be worn tomorrow. Lay it out for the children.
2. Know what you will serve for breakfast and assign preparation tasks.
3. Have a set time for rising and allow some time for emergencies.
4. Set your alarm and determine not to push snooze. Set the alarm across the room.
5. Have cheerful music ready to start your day.
6. Allow plenty of time to spend with the Lord.
7. Write down anything that must be done tomorrow.
8. Check your calendar for appointments
9. Meditate on God’s Word while falling asleep
10. Go to bed on time!
