"An Ohio man wanted to clean the cobwebs from his house, but instead of a broom, he decided to use a propane torch. As a result, he burned his two story house to the ground.
Fire can be very useful, but when used for the wrong purposes it can be very destructive. The same principle applies to the internet. It can be a very useful tool for researching most any topic. It can save lots of time in finding hard to locate items, sometimes at great savings. Plane tickets and rental cars can almost always be purchased cheaper over the internet.
But, if we’re not careful, the internet can rival television as our biggest time waster. When you go online, keep in mind what you are looking for and don’t get distracted by all the clever diversions.
I’m sure that Ohio man learned that using a good tool for the wrong job can have negative consequences. Don’t you make the same mistake, if you want to redeem the time.

"Are you satisfied with where you are spiritually and what you are seeing God accomplish through your life today? Was it your intention 5 years ago to be where you are, doing what you are doing for the Lord today? Perhaps you are living God’s best for your life right now. But, if the answer is, “No, I really thought I would be seeing more results by now,” we need to ask why are we not where we wanted to be and how we can avoid making the same mistakes that kept us from getting further up the road today.
Someone said if you do what you’ve always done you’re going to be what you’ve always been. So if you want to be more for God than you’ve been in the past, you’ll need to take some time today and examine your life. Get wise counsel from Godly spiritual leaders and set goals of what you’ll do differently the next 5 years in order to redeem the time.

"A highway patrol pulled alongside a speeding car on the freeway. Glancing over, he was astounded to see a grandma behind the wheel knitting as she drove! Realizing that she was oblivious to his flashing light sand siren, the trooper opened his window, and yelled on his bullhorn, ""Pull over!""
""No,"" the grandmother yelled back, ""It's a scarf!""
Well, grandma had good intentions. She just wanted to make the best use of her travel time. But she would have been better off to remember the 3 T's of redeeming time in the car.
They are telephone - using your cell phone productively as you travel. Tapes- listening to informative or inspiring Christian speakers on tape or radio. The third T is talk. Take someone with you to converse with and minister to.
The 3 T's telephone, talk and tapes help us redeem the time.

"Our great-grandfathers called it the Holy Sabbath. Our grandfathers called it the Sabbath. Our parents called it Sunday. Today we call it the weekend.
Whatever you call it, there is no question the attitude of the church concerning the Lord’s day has greatly changed from what it observed the first 19 centuries to what we observe, or fail to observe, today. Many people associate refraining from work on Sunday with legalism or trying to earn salvation by the law. But the principle of Sabbath day rest came before the law. It was established by God in the creation week.
God limited buying and selling to six days a week because those activities generally create work for someone and our bodies were designed for one day of rest for every six days of work. When we violate this principle we soon burn out and end up loosing more than we gained from working the extra day.
Observing your God given day of rest, is an important part of redeeming the time.
